about

Two Places at Once is an ambient jam. The main thread is that different things can be going on at once but they’re held on by a thread: namely Tony Levin’s bass and Tani Tabbals drums. The synthesizers/rhodes and Don Byron’s instrumentation slip in and out. The piece comes together harmonically for only a short period. You cannot hold to anything for too long. But it’s okay. This piece is meant to be played while hanging out: drinking tea or whisky. It feels like a conversation among friends.
