about

'Earthling' part of the soundtrack to sci fi tv series 'Brave New World'

'Cycles' is music for taking journeys away from reality: to the inner reaches of your mind, a distant solar system, or a solo hike to Antarctica.

'Cycles' was recorded in New York and Woodstock. Strings, Bluthner Grand Piano and vocals in Beethoven Hall, all synths in Sun Mountain studio, Woodstock.

Historic New York venue Beethoven Hall saw Leon Trotsky give famous addresses then later was a film studio where Raging Bull scenes were shot.

David Baron's Sun Mountain studio hosts his vast collection of synthesisers and vintage keyboards including the very celesta Thelonious Monk played on Brilliant Corners.

Woodstock artist David Baron's CV is impressive. As a producer, arranger, performer, orchestrator and engineer his credits include The Lumineers, Shawn Mendes, Meghan Trainor, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Peter Murphy, Simone Felice, Melanie De Biasio, Bat For Lashes, Vance Joy and hotly tipped Glassnote Records new signing Jade Bird.

David arranged and conducted strings for Shawn Mendes 'Bad Reputation' from the number 1 album in 65 countries 'Illuminate Deluxe'. He played piano, organ and baritone saxophone on one of the biggest selling singles of all time ('All About That Bass' Meghan Trainor). He performed on The Lumineers #1 Billboard Album 'Cleopatra' and produced and co-wrote both 'Strangers' by fellow Woodstock artist Simone Felice and 'Ninth' with Peter Murphy. David provided synths, programming, production and mixing to 'The Bride' (Bat For Lashes) which was shortlisted for Mercury Music Prize 2016.

More recently he scored The Lumineers film 'The Ballad Of Cleopatra'. And is currently scoring Gregory Colbert's follow up to the award winning Ashes & Snow (edited by Oscar winning Pietro Scalia, soundtrack by Jóhann Jóhannsson). Both films are narrated by Laurence Fishburne.
